Indexed Tuition
The indexed tuition model allows for families to make the investment in a ULS education attainable for their circumstances. The model follows moderation guidelines set forth by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The formula takes into account household income, debts, assets, unusual expenses or circumstances, number of children attending tuition-paying schools, and more.
We understand that there is great diversity in family circumstances. Our indexed tuition program recognizes those differences and provides a range of tuition so that we charge the rates that are right for each family. And since indexing tracks with changing circumstances and the cost of living, families who attend ULS know that they can stay at ULS.
Families, especially those with multiple children, are encouraged to complete a confidential indexed application. The indexed committee meets weekly and are committed to protecting the privacy of families. Long-term tuition commitments are available.
Unsure if you qualify? The indexed formula considers income, assets, debt, gifts, etc. with the most significant factor being income. Other factors include:
- Student loans or medical debt
- Family circumstances such as split households
- Number of children attending ULS
- Additional dependents
- Job changes or job instability
- Temporary hardships
Still considering whether or not you qualify? Complete our quick indexed inquiry form below for a tuition estimate.
Full Indexed applications for 2025-26 are now open. ULS partners with SSS, a third party financial processor of Indexed Tuition applications. Submitting an indexed tuition application will not impact in any way the decision to admit your child. Information submitted is confidential and not used for any purpose other than setting indexed tuition.
