Your learning journey begins here

Welcome to Little Lakers!

This program at University Lake School celebrates the richness of the learning that happens within our Lower School in a developmentally appropriate way for the youngest of learners - starting at age 2!

Little Lakers incorporates the Reggio Emilia inspired approach which affirms the capability of children, the role of parents as partners, and the highest quality teachers serving as guides and researchers.

Our littlest of lakers are enriched by the surrounding 180 acres of forest, prairie, and natural play spaces. Children spend time outdoors and indoors in a safe and fostering setting learning to learn and play with others, while practicing the big work of independence and taking care of their environment.

Little Lakers is enriched by an engaging classroom environment which is nestled in the beautiful forest that surrounds ULS.  Our daily learning journey includes

  • Nature experiences on our 180-acre campus
  • Social emotional learning
  • Rich exposure to mathematics, science and literacy
  • Art, music, and adventuring
