Robert R. Blum Scholarship
Bob Blum was a parent of two ULS alumni and served on the Board of Trustees for several years before he passed away in 1998. Thanks to a generous estate gift, a four-year renewable scholarship was created in his honor. The merit scholarship supports students who excel in mathematics and who also exhibit character, leadership and a strong work ethic.
Dr. A. Emerson Johnson III Scholarship
Dr. Johnson served as Interim Head of School in 2001-2002 and he was so beloved, the school community worked to mark his impact on ULS by creating a scholarship fund in his honor. Dr. Johnson enjoyed welcoming new students to our Upper School, especially those who made strong academic contributions to the student body, so the scholarship benefits high-achieving student leaders.
Robert L. Manegold Scholarship
Close friends of one of our School’s founders and greatest champions created a scholarship to honor the many contributions Mr. Manegold made in support of ULS.
Daniel F. Moran ‘71 Scholarship
Friends and family established the scholarship in honor of Dan Moran, a 1971 ULS alumnus who passed away in 1998. The fund supports Upper School students with interest and competence in science, who demonstrate good citizenship, and have financial need.
Stuart R. Stair Scholarship
Stuart Stair is a 1966 ULS alumnus and generously created an endowed scholarship in 2022 to benefit high-achieving Upper School students who value involvement in an array of extracurricular activities and whose families have demonstrated financial need.
Phillip A. Treiber Scholarship
Phil Treiber was a parent of three ULS alumni and served on the Board of Trustees for several years before he passed away in 1990. Family and friends created the scholarship fund to support a 12th grader who has been a positive force at ULS, leading by example in both academics and extracurricular activities during their Upper School years.
Charles P. Brumder Legacy Scholarship
Memorial gifts from friends and family of Charlie Brumder ‘68 helped to establish this fund in his memory after he passed away in May of 2014. Charlie’s father, Robert C. Brumder, one of our School’s founders, passed away later that same year, and memorial gifts made to ULS in his honor were also added to the Charles P. Brumder Legacy Scholarship fund.
