Students of First Responders and Active Military Scholarship
University Lake School recognizes the sacrifices our service men and women make every day to protect the people and communities they serve. ULS is pleased to announce its Students of First Responders and Active Military Scholarship. The scholarship is open to prospective and current students of ULS. Find the criteria for scholarship consideration below.
Scholarship Award Amounts
JK3, JK4 and SK - Up to $4,875
Grades 1-4 - Up to $10,750
Grade 7-8 - Up to $15,750
Grades 9-12 - Up to $17,665
Criteria for scholarship consideration include:
- Overall academic achievement
- Grade Reports/Transcripts – two academic years
- Grade point average - GPA (Core Subject Cumulative per year) – minimum of 3.0+
- Age appropriate activities outside the classroom (such as leadership positions, athletics, school involvement, community service, etc.) will also be reviewed and taken into account when awarding this scholarship
- Students on disciplinary probation are not eligible to apply
To Apply:
New students must complete the following:
o Application for Admission *Application fee waived
o Essay on leadership (Grades 5-12 only)
o Current / Future extracurricular involvement, Interests and Aspirations
o Submission of Transcript/Grade Report – most recent two (2) years
o Documented proof confirming parent’s status as a first responder (Fire, Police, EMT) or active military

Retention of Scholarship:
- Academic performance is reviewed at the end of each school year.
- Students who annually remain in good academic standing (Core Subject Cumulative GPA) are eligible for scholarship renewal.
- In addition to good academic standing, students must also have demonstrated leadership, extracurricular involvement and school contribution to be eligible for scholarship renewal.
- A student will become ineligible for a scholarship as a result of poor academic performance, misconduct or other behaviors that threaten the 'good order' of the school.
